Been awhile (probably will not be the last time)

So we had a great event this month and we found out that this little town of Georgetown can be a fun place to run a muck. Thank you to all that came out and especially to our wonderful helpers. I hope everyone is looking forward to this month and my hope is that we will have a great Halloween event at the church this year so that the youth that crowd our small street can see who we are and want to be a part of what is going on at Church St. Youth. I will write more later, just felt like an update was in order.

Peace,
Troy

Spreading the word like...

I know school is starting too soon that you don't even want to think about it but it is okay, it is not forever and one day you will be...well... an adult and truly it's not what Brad and Angelina make it out to be. Or maybe your thinking, 'YAHOO, SCHOOL!' Either way it is here and a new school year is just about to come and drop kick summer into another 9 month slumber. So here is my question to you guys; can I trust you to tell everyone at school that you possibly can about our new Youth Group at church? If you can help me by telling your friends and inviting them to come and have some fun and learn about God at Youth Group, I would be so stoked! I have made up some flyer's and will be putting them up all around Georgetown, Greenwood, Cool, Coloma, Garden Valley, and all other tiny towns in our area. The picture attached to this post actually is the flyer or at least the rough draft, what do you think of it? Anyhow, spread the word and don't worry about this school year, I'm sure it will be just like this.

Our neighbor lives on the street

We talked just a little about the problem on homelessness and I heard that a few of you had opportunities to serve the homeless. The problem of homelessness is incredibly complex and there is no simple solution, but Jesus made a simple statement in Mark 12:30-31. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." Well the truth is that our neighbor is in the streets; more than ever people are loosing their homes and sleeping at shelters, churches, friends couches, etc.

I have this article for you guys to read and I want to hear your thoughts and questions. So read it, reply here. DON'T think that any question you have is stupid, I want to hear what is in your mind!
